What you’ll be doing
- Deliver high-quality remedial, sports, relaxation, and pregnancy massage sessions.
- Tailor pressure and techniques to the person; coach simple, realistic recovery habits.
- Collaborate with physios so massage complements rehab phases (not competes with them).
- Keep clear, concise notes and communicate well – with patients and the team.
- Contribute to case discussions when helpful.
A Typical Week
Expect a balanced day across remedial, sports recovery, and pregnancy-related discomfort. You’ll have short touch-points with physios to align treatment timing with rehab phases – and time set aside for notes and brief learning blocks, so you’re not racing the clock.
Optional – Sports Massage Coverage
Through our strong affiliation with Performance Massage – trusted by elite athletes and active across multiple NRL clubs – suitable interested therapists may access guidance, shadowing opportunities, and potential introductions into high-performance environments. This pathway availability is an incredible oportunity to the right minded and interested therapist.
What this can look like
- Mentoring on pre-event preparation and post-event recovery approaches used in professional team settings.
- Occasional shadowing opportunities to observe protocols, communication, and pace inside high-performance environments.
- Introductions to relevant contacts when appropriate, with professional expectations made clear from the outset.
- Practical takeaways you can apply in clinic (timing, load management support, recovery sequencing, and clear athlete communication).
- Suitability matters: readiness, professionalism, and consistency come first.
